      I can think of nothing less appealing to a depressed person than joining a choir

    2. Wonder if this is related to the effects of group singing as a way to get people new to a group to feel included. I seem to recall a study several years ago about the effect and linked it to things like singing songs on a bus or at church.

      Having an infant can be an isolating experience, all of your time is consumed on one person. It tracks that group singing could hook into the same part of our evolved psychology.

      I do wonder how much of post-natal depression is having an unhelpful spouse and/or listening to the tiddie-milk jihadists that say someone is a terrible parent if they use formula, despite it enabling their partner to be more helpful.
