This map is factually incorrect. Muslims and Jews in many cases were not expelled immediately after the reconquista. To make an example, in Lisbon, jews and muslims received charters (in portuguese, singular: *foral*) definind their status, their rights and their obligations within the kingdom. Lisbon was conquered by the christians in 1147, but the muslim and jewish communities there extisted until the end of the XV century (decree of expulsion/conversion of 1496-7).

Imagine invading some place and not expect some people with fight back.

  4. – Wrong title for the post.
    – Reconquista ended in 1492.
    – Languages ≠ Religion
    – Reconquista is about the Iberian Peninsula so France shouldn’t be shown. Or if you want to talk about all of Europe you should’ve shown all of Europe instead. And not use Reconquista.

  5. “From Europe”? This map only shows the Iberian peninsula. I thought there were Islamic regions in southeastern Europe that were under control of the Ottoman Empire at the same time as the reconquista?
