We actually had a bunch of the maga crowd in my tiny southern oregon town quit picketing the local VA with Trump signs and were taken over by „No Kings“ and „release the files“ signs. They’ve been pretty steady for the last couple months. This weekend should be interesting

If they are getting mad at a planned Peaceful protest, that means No Kings is working. People need to understand that this is not okay, and we shouldn’t be tolerating this takeover anymore. They’re getting defensive because they know they’re out numbered. If you can, get out on the streets this Saturday, the more people we have, the stronger the effect we will have

The way I see it is this is the start of the move to martial law. They’re looking for excuses to take steps in that direction and this is a big one. They’re ramping up to invoke the Insurrection Act by labeling this a terrorist event
I can’t wait to see how Trump spins this when the number of protestors for No KIngs Protest dwarfs both his inaugurations.

I hear some of the No King’s theme songs are Woody Guthrie ( This Land is Your Land) and Johnny Cash ( Man in Black). Any other songs out to play at these peaceful events?
It’s also worth reminding MAGA that no amount of calling No Kings protesters Marxists, or saying they hate America, is going to do anything to lower the price of groceries for them.

If you don’t get the largest protest across the country on the day then your country is cooked and people are to apathetic.
If they’re against people that don’t want kings and against people that are anti fascist, what does that say about them?

Nothing backfired on trump. Trump supporters aren’t and will never be mad at him. Same shitty articles get posted every day.
The only way something can actually “backfire” on Trump is if it results in his impeachment or else a slide in his approval ratings so drastic that it essentially renders impeachment inevitable.
I can’t think of a realistic scenario where that can happen, because no matter what he does, Republicans and Republican-warped media will find a way to justify it, which keeps his approval rating higher than Nixon’s post-Watergate.
Trump and MAGA opponents need to hone in on this type of messaging. It’s very hard to try to spin up a narrative against a “no kings” protest. Not wanting a king is inherent to being an American. So if you try to say a “no kings” protest is bad you are also arguing for a monarch, and therefore being unamerican
Nothing pairs better than raging at a „No Kings“ protest and a 1776 sticker on your truck.

This is seriously one of the worst „news“ organizations around. If things had really „backfired“ for Trump as many times as this shit-rag says it has, he certainly wouldn’t currently be president. Publications like this are exactly why everyone on reddit was so shocked that he won. If the left wants to actually defeat Trumpism, we have to start by understanding the current reality rather than pretending it’s something else.
Part of their power lies in hiding how unpopular they are, that’s why they hate protests and always try to minimize it. Two of the biggest protests in US history took place in the past 8 years, both against Trump.
Where’s the backfire part? He’s still playing golf and enjoying the destruction.
Trying to characterize upcoming protests before they even happen sounds an awful lot like an announcement that they’re just not okay with people expressing their first amendment rights.
Or, at the very least, trying to incite violence against them.
