Curious to hear the logic behind this one. Quebec’s emissions trading system predates the federal fuel charge and is still in place. Where did they get this figure from?
The Bloc also pushed for the 10% increase in OAS benefits for 65 to 74 year olds in [Oct 24](https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/bloc-bring-down-government-1.7366655), and was essentially ignored by the Trudeau Liberals.
It’s hard to take this too seriously, considering they are making their demands two weeks after saying they were unlikely to support the budget.
There it is , it was weird to see the bloc reject the budget without using it as ranson for demands . Local political play or just poor execution?
I think the opposition partys are confused on how they should play this out , honestly Carney has room still to sit back and take the path of least resistance between the bloc and CPC .
But vice versa nobody wants to trigger a election and both want to be seen as orchestraters of any of the successful moves and results Carneys achieves.
I honestly think Carney might just power through and dare the other parties to take down the government. I think the NDP is ultimately just going to abstain from voting because they can’t afford another election
