They don’t have an option, giving up to Trump would mean massive loss of face to the country. Their citizens would be ready for a few years of hardship to support their govt.
Trump smacked a wasp nest by leading his trade „negotiations“ with threats and insults but without any planning or strategy. During his last term he put tariffs on Chinese parts American manufacturers used to make appliances making our products more expensive but not on Chinese appliances making their products more competitive. He has learned nothing from his previous mistakes.
Time has returned to the moment when Trump had just taken office as president. The process seems familiar, and we all know what will happen next.
