The problem with this is that not every soldier is a combat soldier.

Many soldiers work in cyber defense where being fat is not a problem, some are logistics wizards „flying a desk“, again where fitness is not an issue and many others perform their duties just as well despite having a few pounds too many.

The problem is that America wins wars because of its logistics and battlefield intelligence, not because it has the most fit troops.

Driving those with brains away from serving weakens America.

What are the chances that the ones being „fired“ have other things going on, like being female or black?

    3. Their propaganda photos were met with mockery instead of quaking fear. Oops.

Im totally down for enforcing a fitness standard for the military (and police, it requires discipline, something they need more of).

I just wonder if the standard today will be the same as the standard tomorrow or the next day. With this administration that is highly unlikely, hence my current opposition to this move.

    5. Hegseth has the most „peaked in high school“ plus „always second place“ energy ever.  Like he was the under study for everything in his life.

The overlap of fat people on active duty and those on reserve is pretty slim. It’s what happens when you go from mandatory PT to if I feel like it PT.

    7. Easy to stay in shape when you drink your meals and slam cocaine before your workout.

    8. My dad served in the national guard for 20+ years before mandatory retirement. He was always at the upper end of the weight standards. He had to watch his diet closely a few weeks before his regular weight checks. He primarily worked as an airplane mechanic. He was good at what he did. They’re going to be getting rid of men like my dad. And that’s going to have a negative impact on keeping things in good working order.

      “Sent Home” is not fired.

Unless they’ve somehow violated the terms of their NG service contracts they’ll still get full benefits.

So basically they were rewarded by being allowed to return to normal life and not made to stand around like jackasses.

That’s how dumb this pentagon is.

This guy was in the national guard. He knows first hand how many fatties are in the ranks.

Yes. Real men. Real chiseled men. Hard men. Rough men. Men that know how another man feels. With strong arms to hold me at night. Men that aren’t afraid to break into a musical number at a moment’s notice. Sweaty, dirty, salty men!

You know what I’m talking about.

      >Secretary of War Pete Hegseth ordered modifications to a room at the Pentagon to be used as a makeup studio for on-camera appearances. The room, formerly a green room for press briefings, was retrofitted with lighting, mirrors, and a director’s-style chair.

Viva la the dumbest reality show posing as a government. Almost everyone must look the part I guess. Between his Botox injections someone should ask him why Trump, who is unequivocally a fat slob, doesn’t have to present himself by these new “values”.

Wait. What? Why? Our supposed Commander in Chief is BEYOND Obese! Start from the top!😠

I cannot stop laughing at this. He just wants people who present as masc, butch tops so that he can get those harpy claws into them.

He definitely grew up studying those shitty tired old gay personals with charming content like, “masc straight acting nobody would ever know if I didn’t tell them, just happen to like being with other guys.

no fats, no femmes, no rice, no spice. White only. Just a preference. I’m clean. You be too.”

    15. My workplace once hired a manager like Hegseth. Someone with no technical experience in the field, who clearly was out of her depths. So what did she start doing? Writing people up. We didn’t even work in the type of workplace where being „written up“ was a thing, but she made it into a thing. She wrote people up for the smallest offenses, and she threatened people with „write ups“ who had done nothing wrong. Then the firings began.

Then people started quitting by the droves.

What Hegseth is doing is what weak, incompetent, insecure managers do. They want to show everyone they are the top dog, so they bark and growl instead of being an actual human being. They care more about looking big and powerful than being inspirational and motivational. They micromanage and nitpick superficial issues because they lack the ability to do any strategic thinking.

    16. This is hilarious because you know Hegseth opened an article about the Texas national guard being deployed in IL, so horny to see some tough looking country boys riding in a humvee or something.

Instead it was a photo of average doughey Texan guys the media ran with. And it looked like they were stepping out of the bed of a U-Haul truck?

He must have been raging out about this.
