Submission Statement: The Dutch have taken operational control of a Dutch-based but Chinese-controlled chip maker. While they haven’t formally nationalized the company, they invoked a national security law to seize the company’s operations, throw out the directors, and put it under the control of the state. This is a strong move to cut China’s influence in Europe, and while the Dutch government denies coordinating with the Americans, this is clearly a strong indication that they are still backing Washington’s policy on China.
