  1. Peter Howitt is famous for „Endogenous Growth Theory“ and wrote the book of that name, which I last slogged through about a decade ago, and involves questions like „how much should we be spending on R&D anyway?“

    While it definitely expanded theory I have to say I agree with Krugman’s criticism of it „too much of it involved making assumptions about how unmeasurable things affected other unmeasurable things“. Krugman in the same era was on about „economic geography“ much of which he based on really quite brilliant simulations which showed just how much more radically important and non linear network effects are than we tend to appreciate, to the point of nullifying a huge amount of other things, including the ideas of EGT.

    Lol communist ‚economists‘ refuse to accept that innovation is the primary driver of economic growth as they just push the lie that the government micro managing the economy and placing a heavy burden on business with high taxation and regulation is actually what drives economic growth.
