It’s not surprising that the defense lawyers are asking for a dismissal. What is surprising is how the letter of the law says they should absolutely receive one. The government has come out and at several levels, at several times in several ways claimed that Mangione is undeniably guilty. If that can’t lead to a dismissal for improper pretrial statements by the prosecution/state, then there is truly nothing that could satisfy that requirement.
While I wish this would be reality, they’re going to do wherever it takes to sentence him to life or death.
Man is a modern day martyr at this point. They failed in convincing the public.
