    1. But funding for ICE, the military, deportation flights, ballrooms continues…

      Priorities, priorities…

I guess they’re putting that whole “nine meals between mankind and anarchy” to the test.

It has always amazed me that republicans don’t get more blowback for stuff like this and gutting healthcare subsidies and other social programs. Many of their voters depend on these programs. Our media is really dogshit at explaining how public policy affects people’s lives.

Comically evil Saturday morning cartoon villain shit right here. “Meh!! What will it be leftist radicals? Fund my authoritarian regime?! Or starve millions of Americans to death?! Choose! Democrats! Choose! Meh!!”

    5. So The choice is people dying from starvation or people dying because they can’t afford to go to the doctor? That quite the ask really to say the least.

Are there any options that include no one dying?

    6. It’s a feature. All according to plan. „Why would the Democrats want Americans to starve!!!?“ JFC

Trump is baiting the Dems to save the poors and cave in to Republicans‘ outrageous demands. Don’t cave, Dems. The Republicans have to own this for once. Stop saving the Republicans.

    8. The Republicans want to make healthcare more expensive yet people will still vote for them. Make this make sense!

    9. Quirky-Video-9146 on

Let it rip. People need to get what they voted for or they’ll never learn

    10. I guess we should move to Argentina? Trump just gave them $20 billion. Maybe they can feed us starving Americans.

    11. No-Group-4504 on

Republicans own the whole government. That’s all most Americans need to know, so they will to be blame, period.

    12. Maybe we can ask Argentina for a $20 billion bailout so we can feed our citizens?

Man, this is some dystopian BS we’re livin‘ in rn. Government shut down, people’s lives on the line, and for what? A wall? Damn, we gotta get our priorities straight. Feels like common decency fell off the map, smh…

Republicans with trump as their distraction/figurehead can’t get us to really riot like they want as is with the ice stuff. The plan is to declare martial law and never cede power again. They need a real push back or a false flag which may not work to get this process going. Trump already said he was disappointed Democrats have not started fighting back publicly, this is why. It is part of their plan. Food stamps being cut when food prices are already insanely high for the whole year and they haven’t raised them to match it. So people are already pushed to their limits on food currently. Cutting it all will pull a very negative response from the part of the public they hate the most. Poors.

My disabled elderly uncle’s food stamps just went to from $260 to $140 per month. I was glad he got his SSI check before the shutdown happened but it’s a possibility he won’t get it for November. Fuck this administration.

    16. TheAwfulHouse on

Where is all that tariff money Donnie? Oh, been lying about that too huh? Food stamps are getting hit? How’s that ballroom going? Jet upgrades still on schedule? Still taking those 10 million dollar golf trips every week? Fuck this administration!

    17. EBT policies are stomped on by republicans in my state. If you make to little income, no matter how many hours you work you will be cut off. You make to much you get cut. You sit on hold for 4 hours just to talk to someone. Oh the self service portal lost 5 months of your documentation? You now have to wait 36 months before you are eligible again.

Republicans. Do. Not. Give. A. Shit. If you die hungry.

    18. Goatmannequin on

Trying to starve people for political gain is not the mark of a competent statesman.

    19. Kinda laughing at this being a „scoop“. Those of us that work in this industry have known for months these funds would be cut in one way or another. My clients are truly fucked. I live in a rural town and get calls about evictions everyday as if there is anything we can do.

This is the one single move to ensure that crime rates spike. People are generally passive, especially when it comes to things that don’t directly impact them. But when people are hungry, they will do anything to survive. And when their children are hungry, all bets are off. For those that can, make sure that your food banks are not only well stocked, but have adequate signage so those that need them know how to access them. Invading other states and criminalizing protests hasn’t worked to start another insurrection, so the next logical step is to starve them into one. DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN AMERICA

    21. GrungeHamster23 on

Weird. So there is enough money for the Israeli regime and the failing Argentinian government, but not enough to feed Americans?

    22. This wreaks of bullshit. Didn’t the Republicans just *reduce* funding for SNAP? They were already ensuring „insufficient funds“ for food stamps prior to the shutdown.
