We will probably need even more than that in the long run, but it is a good and necessary step to strengthen short range air defence capabilities, both in Germany and beyond (e.g. for the Panzebrigade 45 permanently stationed in Lithuania).
Basically all mechanised battalions will need Skyrangers for air defence against drones in particular, but also military and even civilian bases and buildings.

Couldn’t reas this drin the article.. the skyranger can be mounted on tanks. Is the plan to deploy it on 600 tanks or does it do on regular vehicles, too?
That’s probably what Russia wants, less anti drones for Ukraine. But yeah we need to defend ourselves as well. I saw policemans in Italy with huge lasers, would they work for those drones?
