    1. >Canada’s commitment to reach net-zero by 2050 is codified by the [Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act](https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-19.3/fulltext.html). The federal government could be held liable for failing to meet the 2050 net-zero target.

That seems like a consequence they could just vote away. Is there anything preventing this or any other future government from just repealing the Accountability Act?

No hes just calculating socail value and economics into the equation. His over all position hasn’t changed at all and he is pretty much moving exactly how you would think if you read his book with an unbiased mind .

The climate threat is not something you can solve in a few months AND it needs a lot of economic resources.

The economic threat from Trump is something that takes precedence if you really want to have the means to tackle climate change, especially since we’ve seen that if you try to tackle environmental problems without assessing the elephant in the room, people will be AGAINST you.

Look at the whole debacle about the carbon tax. Look in France with the „maillots jaunes“ when trying to increase the price of dirty fossil fuels.

Environmentalists (I am one) need a reality check: Humans will NOT solve environmental problems if they are in crisis mode. It’s like asking the Ukrainian people to focus on recycling when they have a lot more important things on their mind.

It’s exactly why we call them „wicked problems“. Besides, even the pandemic has shown that a society-wide full stop is only slightly lowering emissions and only changing behaviours work if people are willing to do it. Do you really think people are willing to focus on the environment right now when the economy AND sovereignty of Canada is under attack?

Wow… They haven’t even released their Budget yet and there’s a bunch of more important things Canada is dealing with right now (not that this isn’t important, it’s just not as important as the other things at the moment).

      Carney didn’t even have a proper Cabinet until May 13th… 5 Months…

They’ve been complaining, and the sky is falling for fifty years. And it still isn’t falling yet. Climate change alarmists have a vested interest in you spending more on so called renewable energies. That aside, let’s get our own shit together before we start thinking about stuff like that. So tired of the pandering to the extremists, including the climate change folks.

    6. If thats the case drop the tariff on China EV bring those to bring competition this way we can reduce the impact on Carbon emission.
