This isn’t the 60’s. I don’t think “communist” has quite the same impact today. But I guess you can still get fined for things? Is it because he is “famous”, or a card-carrying member of a political party, or could any citizen be subject to fines for having biased signs on their lawn?
I usually agree with Third Party Advertising rules, but it feels odd fining someone for things they paid for themselves and only have on their private property that is their home. It just feels a little too broad, but I’m sure someone who’s a landlord could argue all their properties are private and flood theirs. Difficult to find a good and nuanced balance when you need to codify hard rules.
Such a dumb ruling. Even though the message is stupid there’s no obvious tie in favour of a political party. A person should be able to put any sign on their private property.
