    1. hmmm. Two days before the Nobel Peace Prize winner will be announced. Trump will be insufferable if the Nobel committee doesn’t award it to him. That being said it’s encouraging news.

    2. <cough>Bullshit</cough>

Edit: To be clear I hope a deal is reached where Hamas is removed and it actually happens, but…

    3. Who knows what the future will hold, but we can all at least be thankful for any reprieve for all the people who have been suffering…

    4. so have they announced who will make up the international stability force that the deal called for?

    5. According to the article, the source is someone close to Hamas, so I don’t believe it. I’ll wait until more credible people announce this.

    6. AstroturfISIS will continue to protest Israel long after Hamas returns the hostages and disbands.

ITT – people who would rather see thousands more children die in Gaza than see Trump get a Nobel prize.

Get over it guys, the deal has fuck all to do with Trump, he’s claiming it but he’s done nothing to write it, negotiate it, ratify it, and so on.

I don’t think he deserves any type of recognition for this because it wasn’t his doing, but obsessing over what he may or may not get is just madness when so many people are being killed.

You’re so obsessed you’re as bad as him, no wonder you managed to get such an idiot as your president.

    8. >Text visible through the paper appeared to read: “Very close – we need you to approve a Truth Social post so you can announce deal first.”.

I’ll take peace as the outcome of its true, but making sure Trump gets to announce it on his own social media platform first is a rather sad state of affairs.

    9. Oh god I hope so!!!

Don’t know how it is possible that Hamas agreed to be disarmed, but oh god, I hope so, and that the hostages will finally return!

The real question is what the stages of these deal are and the order of the stages as the desk breaks down or at least stalls as soon as either side (probably Hamas) fumbles and starts not fulfilling their obligations.

The Houthi’s will attack Israel, Israel will retaliate against the Houthi’s, everyone will scream Israel violated the ceasefire and Hamas will attack again

Everyone knows this is going to happen and everyone now is just wondering what Trumps response will be when it does

    12. Would love for there to be peace on the Middle East, but unfortunately things will never truly change in our lifetime.

    13. Why is there such negativity around this deal? We should be happy there is significant progression..

The people who want to take credit for this will. That will satisfy their needs. How things play out from here is immaterial.

Ceasefire. Not peace deal. The peace deal part is very much still being negotiated.

If I had to guess: Bibi needs a PR win, Hamas needs a break from the relentless fighting, and Trump is obsessed with a deal. But in the end Hamas doesn’t want to disarm, Israel doesn’t want a 2 state solution. The deal has to fall apart at some point in the not so distant future

I’ve watched this conflict from the sidelines for 40 years and I feel like I know less now than when I started.

I think it might have actually gone through. Wow.

Oct 7 will go down as one of the worst decisions taken by a Palestinian faction. 2 years on, and they have very little to show for it.
