Not a single euro from the eu to that country. And Don’t buy a Skoda.

    2. Chechia joins Austria, Hungary and Slovakia in russia-loving block. Maybe they should unite.

Czech people must be crazy. Hope they don’t ask Western Europe for help, if Putin decides to attack Czech Republic.

    4. What on earth is the reason for why the Czechian people don’t want to support Ukraine? They should know better than most how terrible the Russian regime is.

Not that we have been giving much recently anyway. He said that the (Czech) money to Ukraine will go through the EU channels, not directly from the Czech budget. He is also able to say and, more importantly, do the complete opposite tomorrow.

Well he won’t have a euro from Europe, that’s going to be funny to him

Barely any crown went from Czech coffers *anyway*

They’re from EU funds, which were given to the Czech gov. as reimbursement for sending older stocks.

His supporters are braindead and can’t tell the difference.

    8. Babis, a known grifter back in office? I thought the Czechs were done with that kind. Apparently not.

Come on, this post is rubbish. Out of context. Im far from his supporter, but he „only“ said that the aid is gonna come out straight out of national budget and that he wants to help via EU.
He says he doesnt have a problem with czech arms export to ukraine. Also he is not straight up cancelling ammo initiative, but is gonna rethink it.
Its not the best news but please lets not see black and white and portray our country as another putins whores. Its far from true.
He after all still is pro EU and pro NATO but he is a populist so his tomorrows opinion largely depends on the general mood in czechia

As a grandchild of grandparents who fled Czechoslovakia after the Soviet takeover,. I’m disappointed.

    11. But I’ve been assured he’s NOT far-right by Czech redditors? Guess they were wrong or liars then.

    12. At first 1956 was forgotten by Hungary. Now apparently 1968 is forgotten as well

Lol Czechs yell at you if you bring Gaza topic saying that they are interested in Ukraine rather, and then they vote for this 🙂

We’re f***ed if Eastern countries goes this way. After Tesla and Russian gas, a Czech beer & Skoda boycott throughot EU could be a legitimate retaliation…

What in the heck. I always assumed that Czechs were the sensible ones around here. What happened. Fill me in.

Lessons from the past, those in power clearly know what’s coming. Propaganda is ramping up all over the media, there just needs some flash points before it all kicks off again. I still think that European militaries while maybe not over powering in raw numbers would obliterate Russia just through the NATO forces level of training and tech. Caveat…if those NATO forces decided to defend NATO. There’s still a lot of politics to play out and a lot of hybrid warfare undermining from all parties USA, Russia, China, GB, France. Basically the world is on the edge of a massive shifting power like it has been previously.

    18. RareTotal9076 on

hey! I have seen this one. Fico in slovakia said the same before election. But his minister of defence has personal businesses in weapons industry so weapons are manufactures and flowing to Ukraine.

      Money above all.

    19. The enlargement of the EU to the East has been a massive failure and the EU should work to politically isolate the East, starting from the Visegrad group and include the piggybacking and Russia loving Austria.

The EU should’ve stopped enlarging after Maastricht, basically.
