In der Facebook-Gruppe "Du kommst aus Leuven…" Jemand hat dieses Foto gepostet und er sagte "Blick vom Vismarkt" aber das ist überhaupt nicht möglich, vom Vismarkt blickt man direkt auf die Kirche, nicht von der Seite. Ich denke auch, dass die Kirche überhaupt nicht der St. Peter-Kirche in Leuven ähnelt. Nach ungefähr fünf Eingabeaufforderungen kann Gemini auch nicht weiterhelfen, also frage ich hier: Wer erkennt diese Kirche? Manche sagen, es sei die Kirche in Diest, aber ich glaube auch nicht, dass das richtig ist. Für das gleiche Geld gibt es irgendwo in Litauen eine Kirche oder so. Aber falls jemand sie erkennt, lasst es mich bitte wissen.

Het doet me énorm denken aan de grote kerk in Dordrecht.
St Pieters in Leuven. The painting is by Pierre Vervou, from the 2nd half of the 19th century. The roof we currently see on the bell „tower“ is from after WW2, as that replacement roof was severely damaged, because in WW1 the roof was also destroyed, as was the baroque tower on the center of the cross.What we’re looking is the current jachthaven, as seen from Vaartkant Noord.
The Vismarkt in the center was already filled in around 1880, as were a lot of the arms of the Dijle.
The artist probably used some artistic liberty by somewhat enlarging the church, as it’s the focal point of the picture.
TLDR: Leuven, but not the Vismarkt-Vismarkt, but the end of the Leuvense Vaart (where they might have sold fish as well, as that was now the unloading place for waterborne traffic.

De kerk van Diest is een goed voorbeeld van Demergotiek. Puntige ramen en ijzerzandsteen. De kerk in kwestie ligt dus niet aan de Demer.
