If it’s designed well there’s no problem with something like a student/school voucher program to expand funding to schools that meet a well thought out criteria and that prevents the schools from being overcharged or predominantly benefiting wealthier households etc. (In Sweden for instance, voucher schools can’t charge fees and instead have to rely on government spending when joining the program etc.) but the issue here is that it’s the UCP that would be designing the program and they have an incentive to cut & undermine public education and potentially siphon founds to less secular institutions etc.
When a better/more trustworthy government is in place, it could be worth revisiting at some point down the road, but Smith and the UCP should be kept away from this at all costs.

No. We shouldn’t fund private religious schools. If people want to pay for private schooling then they can pay for it themselves.
Same goes for private healthcare.

I’d prefer to do away with private schools entirely.
They just entrench class divisions and incentivize poor funding for the public system.
Mandatory public education (no private schools, no homeschooling) **with uniforms**, would be my ideal.
