Well, it doesn’t look like the post-Merkel era is more peaceful or prosperous now.
Stop spread Russian propaganda by some clips cut from some 5 second clips and watch the whole interview. She makes it very clear that it is not their fault and rather simply explains the chronology of the events and in one of many mentioned step the EU states couldn’t agree on a united position, which is not giving any fault for the war to anyone.

Can someone tell me how this is Russian propaganda when Merkel visits one of Putins stooges (Orban) to promote her book on how easy it was to wreck German economy and culture and casually lets out that indirectly Baltic states and Poland are responsible for Ukrainian war because they didn’t want to go to bed with Russia after Georgian and Crimea invasion?

I’m actually surprised that Merkel is so vocal about her own legacy and tours around the world saying basically „I did nothing wrong“. Lots of us Germans expected her to be rather quiet in retirement. Maybe that is her plan for after the book tour, but it surely won’t help to drop certain opinions like the way she does now.
That being said, don’t believe all the stuff that is written about her now. Lots of stuff is the stuff is just „I read the headline“.

The first part is fair enough, but Merkel has never said the Baltics or Poland is at fault.
She may have been too naive in believing in peace through trade with Russia, but she’s not stupid.

Merkel seems to be ignoring that Europe/NATO didn’t have and STILL DOESN’T HAVE a doctrine for Russia. The eastern european states likely wanted to avoid further economic entanglement / concessions with/to Russia – raising the costs of opposing Russia later – and thus were against talks alltogether without a unifying strategy.
That’s far from being „against diplomacy“

All this does is create a rift between EE/LV/LT/PL and DE as a strategic defense partner.
Merkel has A LOT OF FAULTS, but this is a nothing story. She merely stated that EE/LV/LT/PL feared that the EU wouldn’t be able to provide a unified position against RU (and it proved to be a correct take – see HU and SLO) and that’s why no more agreements were made.
It’s very ironic that members of this sub are claiming to be resistant to propaganda, but fall into the most obvious of flytraps.

Declared multiple times of wishing to regain control on Polish „russian“ territories and reconnect with Kaliningrad. Tried to meddle with elections in Bulgaria, Romania, Armenia, Moldova
Finland and Poland have been dealing for years with russian military exercises crossing borders, drones trespassing, fighters invading their airspace.
What other reaction do people expect from the baltics who live literally side by side with a war mongering superpower, who has historically invaded them multiple times?
Does Putin want to military invade Germany, France? Absolutely not, he’s not an idiot. What he wants is to regain control on historically „russian“ territories who now fall in multiple sovereign independent countries. He’s willing to do it peacefully or „silently“, fueling instability, coups, political division.
Eastern Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Donbass, Transnistria, Armenia, Georgia, Hungary. They’re all at risk.
