      Treat him like everyone else then. Drag him to jail for the afternoon then let him out.

      €1 would get you parking for 1 hour in Naas and €0.20 would get you 15 minutes. Councillors must be more hard up than we thought if the Mayor couldn’t stretch to that for the 9 minutes he says he was over.

      It’s a pretty reasonable excuse to be fair.

      Non story.  Hard to understand why they don’t issue parking permits for the councillors

      question is if he’s entitled to free parking from his role as Mayor while on council business. If the answer is yes then this is a non story. if its no, then he should be treated the same as every other person parking and not get any exceptional treatment.

      Councillors should not have free parking, many of them dribble on about using public transport but won’t use it themselves.

      Anyone who gets a ticket in future can now just say they were on council business.

      I once got a fine in Naas as I was in the doctors getting stitches and ran over by 15 mins.

      I took it on the chin and paid the fine as I felt I was caught dead to rights. If I can pay my fine why shouldn’t he?
