      that is weird, I just checked the [source](https://app.23degrees.io/view/I4ann5BzXWevnQ8J-bar-stacked-horizontal-regierungshilfen-an-die-ukraine) and they have the ranking of total aid to Ukraine as follows, descending order: USA, Germany, France, UK, Japan, Netherlands, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Spain, Norway, Belgium, Finland, Austria, Romania, Lithuania, Ireland, Czechia, Portugal, Slovakia, Estonia, Australia, Greece, Switzerland, South Korea, Latvia, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Cyprus

      No wonder Denmark was the first one to invite Ukrainian drone unit to have a lesson on drone counter measures. Sense of safety is a crucial part of Hygge.

      Nice to see the Netherlands up there top 10 relative numbers and top 5 absolute numbers.

      Europe needs to grow a sense of urgency. Time is running out.

      Finland is struggling with massive unemployment, stagnant economy and huge deficit, but we don’t abandon our Ukrainian homies.

      I like fact that Slovakia is one of the top contributors. Wouldn’t guessed that on behalf Fico’s rhetoric. It is great to show that Slovakia is not Fico and his shenigans.

      “Biggest donations” cannot be calculated by GDP percentage. Also absent from this list are the contributions through EU and that would change the list considerably, even counting as a GDP percentage.

      That’s cool and all but when it comes to what helpes Ukraine the most I think they are happy to take the biggest absolute contributions even though it’s not the biggest relative to GDP.
      Don’t get me wrong – wish the big guys would contribute more relative to GDP but the reddit headline is misleading.

      I don’t know why it’s in relation to the GDP of each country?

      This list would look so different if it was absolute numbers

      It’s incredible how the Czech government has managed to convince it’s own citizens and Europe it’s one of the top if not the top supporter of Ukraine while in reality being far behind even Fico

      * declared
      * has financial value (intelligence sharing, targeting, training)

      I think the most important aspect of this how much better at donating Denmark is than Sweden… Cheap bastards 🙂

      I know it was reported in Dutch news stating there was Dutch representation, which could literally mean anything. Militaries aren’t the folks for changing agendas unless they need to. Either they are confident enough in their own abilites to have enough data and footage to (think) they know enough.

      With so many large European countries (France, Italy, Spain) missing, it’s a bit misleading, since even the countries low on the list are big supporters.

      How come in times of war politicians manage to find this kind of money but in peacetime they tell us that we don’t have any and afford spending on welfarebor infrastructure?

      The title of the post is plain wrong

      „biggest Ukraine donations“ implies absolute value. This can’t be measured by share of GDP of various countries alone.

      In absolute value donation rankings are topped by larger economies like the US, Germany, and UK. This graph here is a *relative* comparison of the financial pain governments took upon themselves to donate to Ukraine.

      If we ignore the difference between relative and absolute values, Liechtenstein donating 50% of their GDP to Ukraine would seem more helpful thab Germany donating 1% of theirs. Obviously that’s wrong as German GDP is over 500x larger. Think about this from the Ukrainian perspective and it becomes clear that the absolute value matters more.

      Props to the countries topping this list, but we should not ignore the data and the title not matching. This is how fake news get spread.
