Bogus Journey (1991) is truly one of the most unique sequels ever: Nearly every aspect is different, whilst still feeling like another chapter. Part 3 was just a huge dog turd.

> “I had a really great joke about the name of this breakfast,” said Ethan Slater, who hosted Monday’s event, presented by City National Bank. “I was workshopping it, but it took, like, seven years to develop, and we’re struggling to get the funding. Hopefully next season.”

The third movie already undermined the franchise premise too much for it to continue — the first two movies clearly established that Wyld Stallyns became megastars and produced all their best music while Bill and Ted were still young, and that they were so popular society reorganized around their music.
Then the third movie depicts them as has-beens who were forgotten by middle age, and they never seem to have achieved the level of success shown in the montage at the end of the second movie.
They were supposed to be bigger than The Beatles in-universe, and nobody forgot who Paul McCartney was by the time he was in his 50s (or 80s).
A fourth movie can’t course correct and show them cranking out wildly popular new music when they’re in their 60s, because that’s not how pop music works and also because they were shown to have made all that influential music when they were in their 20s.

I would rather have another John Wick movie where he time travels in a phone booth.

No thank you.
Bill and Ted 1. Absolute classic. Total chill comfort movie, funny and great vibes.
Bill and Ted 2. Completely batshit insane. Kind of terrible but it’s so much fun you just have to give it a pass and enjoy it.
Bill and Ted 3. Boring and flop city. Tarnishing the legacy.
Just leave it be please.

Has anyone actually watched Keanu act in the last ten years? He’s absolutely awful.
He’s a wonderful person, but watching him act makes me wince .

I’m a B&T Stan dating back to the first film. Bogus Journey is my personal favorite movie of all time.
I seem to be in the minority of finding Face the Music to be relatively decent (it had its moments, especially the opening wedding scene with Missy, alcoholic Ted, their fake affluent scene with British accents, and random Kid Cudi).
I’m not sure about them doing a fourth film and I would hate for the film franchise that has defined my life ending on an absolute wet fart flop of writing/plot.
3 had enough rough moments as-is and deviated too much from the end credits of Bogus Journey.
Face the Music already passed the Preston and Logan save the world plot to their kids.
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is satirical commentary on using AI to be relevant again.
That said, I will always watch anything with William Sadler as Death. He rules.
Edit: a B&T Broadway adaptation/reboot would be far better than a new film IMO.

I’m still waiting for Freaked 2 with Alex directing and playing Ricky Coogan again, and Keanu reprising his role as Ortiz The Dog Boy.

I love all 3 deeply and am happy for it to remain that way
