      Regardless of whether or not these surveillance powers make it into the Liberals‘ legislation, the fact that they tried to introduce them under the guise of „border safety“ suggests a worrying shift away from protecting Canadians‘ rights, toward expanding state surveillance. I’m relieved, and frankly a bit surprised that Poilievre came out against this, but it’s an issue I can see either party passing legislation on with a strong majority.

      I hope we can all look south and agree that we don’t want to live in a police state.
