Sadly for the Palestinian cause, the current alignment of Russia, China, Iran etc. in a loose anti-Western alliance has proved a double-edged sword. On the plus side, they provide undoubtedly effective propaganda support. On the negative side, Russian ambitions in particular keep reminding their European targets that they are very much at risk, hence triggering turn-abouts like this.
