    1. No shit. It’d be one thing if any of these guys came with actual credentials and just had shit politics. Nope every single person at the top of cult is not only a piece of shit but a complete moron who belongs in prison or digging ditches not being in charge of anything

I don’t know about laughing stock but he isn’t great for morale. And recruitment might still be fine in some sectors, but intelligent people are thinking twice before signing up, in a way they wouldn’t have a decade ago. He is clearly hostile towards anyone that isn’t a chest thumping performative jerk.

Except nobody will go on the record and stand up for our country. BC all afraid of that filthy man.

    4. I’m still waiting for Hegseth to demand that Trump steps down. He is the Chief of Command, and the fatest guy among the military leadership. Technically even a DEI hire as he has zero military experience, and only got his job because of beneficial treatment. Not merit.

Not in the one place that really matters to him though – his make up room in the Pentagon.

I’ve had directors managers that were a joke to the company and other leaders/CEOs that were viewed the same. Some of them had outright awful behavior too.

Since they had power, nothing happened

    7. According to my buddy inside the AF, he thinks it’s mostly positive. „Hegseth finally said what most of us are thinking! We’re too soft, and we’re too woke! Most of us support reforms!“ and I’m thinking „well, and maybe there’s a reason you’ve been at your current rank for the past 30 years…“

He likes to show off and make others feel uncomfortable and inferior. Truth be told, most people don’t like that.

I listened to his speak at the Navy’s 250th Anniversary celebration.

I can understand why he’s seen as a clown, because he sounds like one.

    10. He demanded proof, but he said that to a liquor store clerk as he was pointing at a bottle.

Who would’ve guessed a drunk , ex-Fox news guy would not be respected among the military leaders????

I worked for a major publicly traded company in a pretty senior role (I had ~1,100 employees report up to me in multiple states). We had a new boss come in who reminded me a lot of Pete and most of the current administration. Peter principal (no pun intended) comes to mind, except by a couple levels above incompetence. Anyway, this guy did much the same as Trump and Pete here, demanding loyalty, firing anyone who stood up to him or wouldn’t mindlessly parrot his bullshit, while those of us who survived kept our heads low and tried to root him out. Took a few years but finally his incompetence and bad behavior caught up to him, and he was fired. Years later the scars remain. Culturally, reputationally and in loss of irreplaceable talent and institutional knowledge. I see that experience as a microcosm of what’s happening today, and while as bad as it seems, it gives me hope that eventually the trash will be taken to the curb. And while nothing will ever be the same, it’ll be better than now.

The administration of draft dodgers try and lecture a room full of military leaders. 🤡🤡🤡💩💩💩

Oh sorry, Pete served in the national guard for 3 yrs, my bad.

Imagine being a veteran of the Gulf War, Afghanistan, and Iraq War and then listening to a Fox News host talk about the „warrior ethos“.

Lol within the defense department?…he’s a laughing stock to anyone who’s not MAGA

Honestly military vets are people not to F with and have low tolerance for bullshit.

      Thank god. 🙏

Guy has a personal makeup station installed in the Pentagon and then wants to harangue career generals about a deficit of manliness. Of course he’s going to be found laughable.

    18. Once ol‘ Bone Spurs hears about this he’s going to make sure to fire this Mr. Marine Veteran.

    19. endofworldandnobeer on

Prob is that he will try to replace the ones laughing at him right now with those who will try to profit off of him.

    20. You mean to tell me that people aren’t taking the Hegseth (an alcoholic Major from the reserves who doesn’t understand opsec) seriously?? Why not?! I mean they’re only Colonels and Generals with 20+ years of study and practical experience under their belts!

Of course the man is a laughing stock, he’s a clown. Unfortunately, he’s also a very dangerous person who gets fed a lot of ideas by people who are even more dangerous and unhinged (looking at you, Doug Wilson). Hegseth is stupid and incompetent, but that just makes him more capable of doing serious damage.

This guy is the human equivalent of a pickup truck with a lot of really aggressive bumper stickers.

    22. Comfortable-Ad-3988 on

The guy who just acted like he’s better and smarter than every general in the room despite being the least qualified person ever appointed isn’t getting respect? I’m shocked!
