    Diebe in Belgien zielen zunehmend auf die Batterien auf Elektrofahrrädern ab, die im Allgemeinen einfacher zu stehlen als das Fahrrad selbst und können zwischen 500 und 1.100 € wert sein.

      At this point, it might be necessary to spend around €80/year on bike theft insurance from Ethias (are there other companies that offer bike insurance? Idk honestly).

      Honestly, in certain places I just remove the battery and take it with me for safety. But it is admittedly quite heavy and I wouldn’t expect for example an elderly person to do this. I guess you might also be able to invest in a secondary bike cover lock for some models of bike.
