I would imagine Illinois‘ AG filed suit the moment this news broke. So far, Trump’s administration has had next-to-no luck when it comes to deploying NG for no damn good reason.
By no means am I saying that would stop Trump, but those rulings may very well come in handy later.

Question. If the National Guard can be federalised, and the State Troopers don’t appear to be on the side of the people/democracy, is there any reason why the State Government/Chicago government can’t just raise their own “well regulated militia”?
