      Conor McGregor’s latest legal battle in the US, over an alleged sexual assault in Miami against a Wall Street executive, has entered a period of negotiation as lawyers seek extra time for talks.

      Court filings in Florida show that both sides have requested a 50-day extension to allow discussions to continue and to gather more information, raising the prospect of a settlement that could keep the case out of court.

      The motion stated: “The parties are currently in discussions regarding plaintiff’s allegations in the complaint. In furtherance of these discussions, the parties require additional time to procure information related to the allegations in the first amended complaint.”

      The joint motion for an extension was lodged on Thursday. The motion would give McGregor an extra 50 days to respond to a complaint that he attempted to sexually assault the woman in a male bathroom at an NBA Finals game at the Kaseya Center in Miami in June 2023.

      The complainant, named “Jane Doe” in legal papers, alleges that McGregor “engaged in unlawful sexual contact” in a men’s bathroom at an NBA Finals game to “degrade” her and “for his own sexual gratification”.

      It’s said a lot because of how hated he is but he genuinely looks fucking awful.

      I’m not saying he’s a rapey scumbag, but if he *was* a rapey scumbag I’d expect him to have a string of legal situations in multiple places for being a rapey scumbag.
