There hasn’t been a single shooting with any of the banned guns in the past 5 years (when they said we couldn’t take them to the range anymore), yet they’ve been in the lawful possession of us (R)PAL holders the entire time.
If this program has proven *anything*, it’s that we can indeed be trusted to own these firearms lawfully, and safely. If this was “probation” rather than an “amnesty” we’d be getting off probation and allowed the full rights and freedom as anyone else.
We’ve proven ourselves, let this program go.
We’re good people, just trying to enjoy our lives. Leave us be, please.

Decades of normal ownership, 5.5 years of prohibited ownership under the amnesties, and not a problem with any of it. We have leaked recordings of the government outright stating it is a waste of time. Basic logic dictating it won’t have any impact on illegal ownership. Yet, despite multiple opportunities to cancel the program and save face, here we are, with the government determined to wear all the embarrassment they can.
I still haven’t heard any logical argument to support this, it’s only ever fear mongering or misinformation.

We should all be criticizing this program.
