Michelin stars are all about pushing boundaries and trying the latest in molecular gastronomy. There is nothing insidious or surprising about them having insect dishes.

Wake me up when McDonalds is rolling out 50% beef 50% cricket big macs.

They’re trying to warm us up to alternative sources of protein for when the beef and pork is gone.

I think it’s way weirder that we eat lamb and veal or any baby animal but I must admit I just can’t eat bugs, the idea of the crunchiness just weirds me out. My husband tried crickets in Japan though and said they’re fine and like chicken, he liked the crunchiness too 😬

Diners in Michelin starred restaurants will eat anything served to them….

First of all some bugs like crickets are protein rich and you can literally feed them cardboard. So these are cheap meal options with some value that can be farmed densely at low cost.

Second, you eat crab, lobster, and shrimp. The fuck is the difference? This constantly recycled narrative is just rage bait.

Animal agriculture is one of if not *the* largest contributor to the global temperature increasing/ a major source of environmental degradation. Insects are eaten in many cultures around the world. Successfully industrializing edible insect husbandry could potentially be very profitable (follow the money).

I would agree that it is not a necessity for humanity to pursue this particular goal. On a personal note it is deeply unappetizing. Could also very well have unforseen environmental consequences

    7. Insects are probably healthier than what’s in fast food meat. Just saying.

    8. Bugs carry way more bacteria pathogens = sick humans = money for medical industry.

Insects are dying off at alarming rate. There is potential collapse of the bug ecosystem in the near future and when that happens, the entirety of all life collapses with it.

Also, the image your using is from a fictional movie called Snow Piercer. This never happened.

I don’t think they are going to be making us eat bugs. But, fun fact, insects contain more protein pound for pound than meat you can currently buy in the store.

I don’t know if anyone has noticed the decline in beef quality over the past few decades, but that shit is like chewing on rubber lately.
