Minister blocks the whales from moving, then says they need to go into the wild.
What kind of clown show is it over there in DFO? Why do we even have a fisheries minister, fishing and oceans falls under environment – should be the call of the environment minister.
Remind me why we bred freakin‘ Beluga whales in captivity again? What cruel jokes humanity likes to play.
All of these whales were bred in captivity. They know nothing about the sea.
Marineland doesn’t need money. They need permission to send the whales to China where they can further be used for entertainment purposes. As they were objectively bred to do.
It’s our own minister of fisheries that’s put the brakes on that. Marineland is underwater with debt & can’t care for the whales any longer.
It would be a kindness to euthanize them. They’ll die at sea just like they’ll die in a cage. Only they’ll be more terrified when death comes for them at sea.
Compromise. We give them money to free the whales in their native habitats then we cllet them flounder and close for good.

Time for another credible, ethical, and humane aquarium to step up. These belugas cannot survive back in the wild.
Marineland sucks.
Why not release one whale into the wild with telemetry attached and see if it adjusts to the will and survives? Maybe it can adapt. Wildlife can be incredibly resourceful. If it survives, then release them all.
