I hate when she keeps doing things I agree with. What timeline is this?????

    2. Her principles might be……who knows where….but she seems to be sticking to them? compared to most others that just change their principles as needed, I’m conflicted, kind of impressed, though that doesn’t help my view on her.

I don’t believe this theater from Marge. She’s acting like controlled opposition.

    4. LightningVole on

What’s going on with her? Is she changing or is it that the rest of the GOP is now crazier?

It’s worth noting that Georgia, including MTG’s district, has a very high percentage of Federal employees. This is true for many deep red districts.

Her constituents are gonna feel serious pain, and she’ll pay the price.

      Which I’m fine with.

    6. TheMoorNextDoor on

She’s fighting for her future in politics and seat in Georgia.

She’s all of a sudden flipped sides like the anti Fetterman

24 million Americans who get their healthcare through the ACA are going to see their premiums increase 114% (double) on Jan. 1 because of Trump and Republikan Party’s Big Beautiful Bill.

Republikans have shut down the government so they can double insurance premiums for 24 million Americans.

It’s the typical Republican BS… Pretend to be the „voice of reason“ while still voting with the party.

    9. Maybe she actually believed in MAGA? She seems to have genuinely drunk the kool aid. Glad to see her somewhat standing up but Trump has been so erratic and inconsistent that it’s strange to see her just now calling out the BS

    10. I trust her as far as I can throw her, but If the neighbor is getting bit in the ass by their own dog I can’t complain much.

    11. Are we dead? Did we die? What kind of hell is this when I have to agree with this troll?

    12. These idiots could get 80% of what they want if they would just compromise on the 20%

She is arguing they should get rid of the filibuster and pass the CR as it stands with no dem support… that would be the nuclear option. Not sure why everyone in this thread thinks she is siding with dems or anything.

    14. borisRoosevelt on

I suspect her MO is saying or doing whatever gets the most attention, regardless of how helpful, hurtful, or toxic it is to anyone.

    15. NovelRelationship830 on

She seems to be hedging her bets against Trump lately. Maybe she smells blood in the water and plans on being one of the first GOPers to say „Actually, I never even liked the guy“.

    16. Why is everyone in this thread is agreeing with her? She wants to use the nuclear option and bypass the dems. Healthcare costs will skyrocket and millions will lose access. That being said, Democrats while trying to protect Americans, are also saving Rs the consequences of their bad decisions. What am I missing?

It’s worth remembering that as discouraging as the current circumstance is, the roght not some unified force but a collection of all sorts of different assholes who align at a few critical areas

They are constantly looking for ways to stab one another in the back to climb just one rung higher

    18. Voodoo_Masta on

Important context – she’s not actually making a demand, she wants to further marginalize the dems by overriding the 60-vote rule. It seems she hasn’t got the memo that they WANT the shutdown so Russ Vought can gut everything.

    19. Well hang on, this all sounds fine and good, but it sounds like in the article she’s mad that they’re not „going nuclear“ to override the 60-vote rule. So… is it that she blames the GOP for walking out and not negotiating, or is she blaming the GOP for not overriding the 60-vote rule?

    20. Guys, she’s saying to pass the CR with a simple majority and to pass laws making Trump’s policies permanent. She is NOT saying she agrees with Democrats or preserving healthcare subsidies. The headline is disingenuous.

    21. ErraticKuiperRomp on

This is not what she said at all. She wants the Senate GOP to use the „nuclear option“ which means eliminating the filibuster and only requiring 51 votes (or 50 and a VP tie breaker) instead of 60 votes in the Senate to move a bill through. Which would create a clear path for Republicans to pass any and all legislation they want without any votes from Democrats.

    22. spazoidspam on

To be fair, the reason she is blaming republicans is because she wants the Senate Republicans to use the „Nuclear“ option and remove the 60-vote threshold, so they can pass the budget resolution with a simple majority. So „Turns on Trump“ is headline-grabbing by the Daily Beast.

    23. Never thought id ever respect a single statement she would’ve made… I’m happy to be proven wrong

    24. No one in these comments read the article, she’s blaming republicans for not nuking the filibuster, an action that would be even worse.

    25. MyReditName_1 on

Out of all the MAGA lunatics, I never thought MTG would be the one to see the light and to walk away

    26. D_Oblivious_1 on

You know, she could just vote for the Dem’s plan if she really felt this way. Just sayin

    27. I hope she’s reading the room correctly and there’s internal struggles in the MAGA movement that will get to a breaking point soon.

    28. PushPlenty3170 on

She has her eyes on the prize; once Trumpism collapses, she’ll be the candidate who was far right enough to collect his voters but was first on the scene to distance herself from his circus.

    29. She wants the Epstein files released and there is a new congressperson waiting to be sworn in who is the deciding vote on that.
