    Ist das in Österreich legal?

    Meine Freundin sucht einen Job als Grafikdesigner und ist darauf gestoßen. ADF International. Einige US -amerikanische konservative Lobbygruppe. Es scheint, als ob sie Sie nicht nach Ihrem Vertrauen in die Bewerbung fragen sollten. Zumindest in meinem Land ist es nicht legal. Ist das in Österreich legal? Der Job ist in Wien.

    EDIT: Sie möchte dort nicht arbeiten. Es war einfach seltsam, dass sie unter anderen Stellenausschreibungen fand. Bearbeiten 2: Jemand hat nach dem gefragt Link

      I don’t think that’s someone you’d want to work for anyway. But since they’re US-based, I’d assume they can get away with stuff like this even in Austria.

      It is not.

      Altough the page is just in german, but the job service administration states questions about religion as an „illegal“ question.

      Exceptions are given if you apply for a job which is directly linked to religion.

      Did she do ANY kind of due diligence or research on ADF International? I guess not … those are hardcore Facist Christian nationalists …

      ADF International is a forefront organization for MAGA Trumpism. I guess they don’t really care if that is legal or not. Just look at Trump.

      It depends. If the organisation itself is part of a recognised church (in Austria, not US) then it is allowed under the „Konkordat“. Otherwise not.

      It depends. Employers are not allowed to be discriminatory in the hiring process, but if the information is relevant, they can ask for details normally not allowed.

      Someone hiring security for a synagogue probably is allowed to ask the religious opinions of applicants. A fast food chain wouldn’t.

      So, it is not a easy yes/no.

      Following the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) valid in all countries of the European Union it is absolutely forbidden to collect any data about your faith.

      It is very much not legal.

      However, its also a great sign that you should just not work for them. Not to mention that they’re christian fundamentalists with extremist viewpoints and shouldn’t even exist as an organization in our secular country, but thats a broader discussion to have.

      It’s not, but getting Austria to do something is a different story altogether.

      This is a Project 2025-Trump associated group, btw. that has been written about numerous times as an agent to export portions of Project 2025 into Europe.

      There is a exception for religious organisations, but there it also comes often to arguments like is it essential for a hospital run by an catholic order to be all people there catholic, even it has nothing to do with the job?

      I doubt this is legal.

      It is legal if it is crucial to the job itself and I‘d argue that this is the case for an organisation that is essentially a christian lobbying group.

      So yes, imo in *this* case it is legal

      I thought this was like a questionnaire to join a religion, first thought was, ofc, we have religious freedom.

      Then i saw it’s a requirement for a job?? Heck no, this is not legal!
