    1. Its hard to say anything the government does is the fault of the opposing party when you control all of the branches of government with your party.

„If there is a shutdown, I think it would be a tremendously negative mark on the president of the United States. He’s the one who has to get people together.“

      -Donald Trump, 2011

„A shutdown falls on the President’s lack of leadership. He can’t even control his own party and get people together in a room. A shutdown means the president is weak.“

      -Donald Trump, 2013

Well duh, it’s his fault. And making mob boss threats when he doesn’t get his way is ridiculous.

    4. I think calling his incoherent blathering „spin“ is unnecessarily and unreasonably generous. He’s demented and he’s not in control of what he says.

      And the Epstein files.

    5. actuallywaffles on

Every time anything in the government happens, most average people blame whoever is president at the time. Republicans use that all the time when they don’t have the executive branch yet immediately think the rule doesn’t apply to them when they do.

      47%?

53% of America either doesn’t know or care or thinks democrats are to blame. Mind boggling

    7. Trump’s 2013 remarks during appearances on Fox & Friends, Trump criticized President Barack Obama’s leadership, saying:

„A shutdown falls on the President’s lack of leadership. He can’t even control his party and get people together in a room. A shutdown means the President is weak“.

He also stated that a shutdown would be „a tremendously negative mark on the President of the United States. He’s the one that has to get people together“.

Trump also said, „The problems start from the top and have to get solved from the top. The president is the leader, and he’s got to get everybody in a room and he’s got to lead“.

    8. But those damn democrats want to pay sex change operations for every illegal alien murderer, send 1 trillion dollars to every third world country, mandatory gay sex course in every school and rename USA the United communist states of Mexico!

makes sense he did call for it and had all this publicity waiting for it and it blocks votes on epstein files and he said he’d own it

You can fool some of the people all of the time…and those people are in the cult.

    11. Using his patented method of negotiating where he refuses to engage and demands people accept whatever scraps he’s willing to throw.

He’s been doing it for decades with contractors.

    12. ProfHossenfeffer on

seems he’s struggling to make a deal. He might want to read this great book called the Art of The Deal…it might help him close….

The buck stops at the top. Since stupid is at the top, that’s that. If we had someone higher than the top, maybe.

Trump and the republicans are wholly responsible for this.

    14. The more he finger points on federal websites, the more likely he’ll get blamed.

    15. elammcknight on

Of course it is his fault and this is exactly why the Dems need to hold out until they get protections for American Middle Class and those struggling

    16. KlutzyFirefighter836 on

Also the reason why taxpayers had to foot the bailout of Argentina, American farmers, and hedge fund managers. Oh shit, all his lawsuits and his damn ballroom.

    17. publicFartNugget on

Please, republicans, see this for what it is. Dems have no control at this point so what the fuck? Dems never did this shit to republicans.

    18. Distinct-Ad-9199 on

He’s the GD president! It’s his administration of course the GOP and trump are to blame! It is such garbage and delusion to think otherwise.

    19. TJ_learns_stuff on

I mean … why would people think democrats are at fault?

Republicans control ALL branches of the federal government.

You own it GOP. Once again, proving the party is unfit to govern.

    20. Larrythecrablobster on

If conservatives can just go ONE week, just thinking that MAGA is bullshitting them, go ONE week putting themselves in a neutral position, just ONE week imagining that MAGA were the left, maybe then they could see how unfit and un-American Trump and his goonies are. They are the worst part of America, the greed and the power hungry, why the fuck would they actually care about anybody else? Everything they do is revolving money and profit for themselves and they will keep grifting until America is so in debt they sell it to the highest bidder as long as it saves them face.

    21. Bishopjones2112 on

Trump himself once said that a shutdown would the fault of the president. So yeah

    22. Massive_Disk4931 on

The only 2 term president to have a shut down in both terms. Pretty sure he holds the record for the longest shut down too. Daft fool

    23. “I’m in charge of everything, I am the boss of every detail in the country”

      And

      “It’s their fault!”

      In the same breath.

      Liar

We all know, Trump is a filthy liar.

We are paying Trump taxes out the ass.

The grocery store just advertised the lowest tier quality chuck roast on sale for $5 a pound, and they put a picture in the mailer of the chuck roast sliced and cooked like steaks. Because people can’t actually afford real steaks anymore.

These bottom feeding gangsters are lying.

    24. HappyFunNorm on

These people are all idiots. The president CAN’T be a part of the shutdown, it’s entirely Congress. It’s the constant „quit ignoring credit or blame of Congress‘ own actions“ challenge… good lord, people. It had nothing to do with Trump, and everything to do with people electing terrible people to Congress.

    25. StandardDiver2791 on

BECAUSE HE IS AT FAULT! This one isn’t complicated. MAGA control all three branches of government. Period.

    26. He has failed at EVERYTHING he has ever done. Serial cheater, rapist, grifter, con-man, liar, abuser. Can’t wait until we wake up to the obit everyone wants to see

If you squint your eyes enough, it’s like we are stuck in a world where the South won the Civil War.

    28. ChargedSkull on

Please come tell this to my coworkers, I don’t think they got the memo

    29. The gop has both houses and the exec. Weak if you can’t win with all the chips.

    30. Anyone who thinks the dems are responsible for this are just lying by this point.

    31. I mean it’s his administration that’s responsible for nearly HALF (45%) of alllllllll the days the government has ever shut down. So he better own it. In his own words it’s the presidents fault for a lack of leadership

    32. ShepatitisC on

Republicans. They control all branches of government. This isnt just trump.

    33. They’ll prolly have another random violent act to blame on the Dems. They keep trying to distract
