Hallo!
Ich und meine Freundin fanden eine junge verletzte Taube. Mit seinem Bein und dem Flügel stimmt etwas nicht. Wir bewegten ihn in eine Tasche von einer belebten Straße in eine Seitenstraße, er versteckt sich hinter einem Blumentopf. Zurück zu Hause tendieren wir dazu, solche Fälle in eine Klinik neben dem Zoo zu fahren, aber hier sind wir beide ohne Auto und es gibt keinen Tierarzt. Was könnte wir/ jemand in der Nähe tun?

Sadly the pigeons are not really taken care of, Bird Life Malta which is like a wild bird protection org does not intervene when it comes to wild pigeons. I called them once to check and they suggested taking it to a vet which i suppose would cost money to do (and time which most people don’t have much to spare)… But this was a few years ago, maybe worth calling them and just asking:

(And i realize of course that it wouldn’t be feasible for Bird Life to help with every pigeon that someon happens to find in the streets, not blaming them as they’re doing a ton of great stuff in this country)
Contact the Malta Ranger Unit and they’ll tell you where to actually call, because it’s not them who are meant to handle these but they recently posted mentioning where to contact. I can’t look into it properly right now.
