At some point will the rich not just move out of France for Switzerland if they keep taxing more without cuts?

Good luck to them! I work for a provincial government in Canada and we’ve been on strike for 5 weeks now with no end in sight.

    3. Do the people not realise that a 6% budget deficit is completely unsustainable?

It’s only going to get worse the more the EU nations have to deploy debt and also raise defense spending. Butter or guns equation in play and we all know that butter (social entitlements) has had decades of heyday as there wasn’t really a need to increase defense spending with the U.S. extending its arm but now with it receding… interject being cut off from cheap Russian oil and things should get spicy the next few years. Also, taxing the rich is of course the battle cry, but “taxing the rich” is synonymous with taxing business as wealth at levels the mass class views as abhorrent is usually just shareholders of large corps but here’s the kicker, the EU is about to get squeezed in its business class more than it can handle seeing as it hardly has had the growth and innovation on a macro scale as the U.S and its companies imply do not have the type of returns that can justify additional barriers to growth that taxation or additional government regulation will apply…. coupled with the fact that there has always been slightly higher unemployment bc of favorable social safety nets for decades, we shall see how the EU emerges and morphs in this new paradigm shift.
