This may be a dumb question, but at that distance how can they tell that it’s CO2 emissions from a propulsion engine that’s creating the “tail” and not just assume it’s a natural tail like we see on other star/comets/meteors in space?
Edit: is it because it says the color and intensity doesn’t change? Suggesting that it’s a steady flow of heat rather than something that fluctuates naturally? This stuff interests me, but sometimes I get lost in the details.
