Mark Carney „begrüßt“ Donald Trumps Friedensplan für Gaza

It also underscores the importance of the partnership with the United States in achieving peace in the region.

This is closely matched by a [statement made by several Arab nations, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Türkiye](https://x.com/mofaqatar_en/status/1972770277319954465?s=12&t=iqplfstMgRRBcFnCrn6B4A):

> The foreign ministers … welcome President Donald J. Trump’s leadership and sincere efforts to end the war in Gaza, and asset their confidence in his ability to find a path to peace […] welcome the announcement regarding his proposal to end the war, rebuild Gaza, prevent the displacement of the Palestinian people and advance a comprehensive peace.

I find it notable that the statements do not give a full endorsement of the peace plan as it currently stands, rather, they give somewhat more vague endorsements of the „sincere efforts“ and various points that are proposed; this suggests to me that there are some remaining sticking points in the proposal. One of these could potentially be the disarming of Hamas, which the PA’s and Ministers‘ statements do not mention. (Neither does Carney’s, though his statement is far shorter and doesn’t mention many other specifics).
