This is from July. A poorly managed crematorium that accepted more bodies than it could destroy.

Context: This was discovered in July 2025. The discovery was made in Ciudad Juárez, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, near the U.S. border.
Around 383 complete bodies and 6 partial remains were found in what is suspected to be a crematorium / body disposal facility operating under shady circumstances. Many of the bodies were embalmed, meaning they had been preserved to slow decomposition.
The facility’s owner, José Luis Arellano Cuaron, and an employee are being charged with improper disposal of human remains, under local laws. Authorities believe the bodies came from multiple funeral homes in Juárez, and that relatives were given ashes (or told remains were disposed) despite the bodies being kept there.
Whether this site was used to hide bodies intentionally (i.e. concealment of crimes), or whether it’s a case of malpractice and fraud in the funeral / cremation business is still unknown. Some officials say there’s no evidence so far that gangs or cartels were directly using it to dispose of murder victims.
