What’s the counter argument when the United States rejects the very reality of climate change and their President calls it a „con job“ on the floor of the United Nations?

Climate change is famously, a hyperobject, an unprecedented existential and global threat, we can’t do this alone and we can’t afford to continue a fight with the remaining superpower who still acknowledges the reality of climate change and is warping their industrial policy towards meeting it’s challenge. A fight that was started because our leaders determined China had worked too hard in building a low cost replacement for the internal combustion engine.
