    3. Jesus, these comments are miserable.

I like the knitted hats on post boxes. They’re nice.

What could be more „southern British“. I’ve never seen any of these irl and I’m convinced it’s just a handful of towns and villages down south doing them all.

I remember they had some of these during the queens jubilee . It’s a nice touch

You coordinate with Royal Mail to have a spot for a fixed time. In some areas there is more demand for space than there are postboxes.

And unfortunately, they’re on their way out, as postboxes are being converted to have solar panels on the top.

„Toppers“ are looking for other things to „yarn bomb“. Bollards are gaining in popularity.

We had one of these on the post box on my street, unfortunately it was stolen by chavs.

What could be more British than that?

    9. I live in a town in the Midlands and the local Women’s Institute has decorated loads of post boxes around the town like this. I think they’re awesome!

They often theme them depending on the season, so they’ve done Christmas knits, Easter, Halloween, and done some for VE day as well.

There was one around our way at Xmas. Santa and penguins, what’s not to like. As expected, some sod nicked it

    11. There’s a post box in cowfold that has these every time there’s a seasonal change or an event, been photographing them for a while!

    12. Someone put a lot of time into that. It would certainly cheer me up if i saw that.

Although i worry that the weather will do a number on it.

Flagshaggers putting flags on every lamppost they come to,a bit like a dog having a piss. Same energy.

I love them. Ive stopped the car before now, to take pictures. Love them on bollards too. (Not the type with reflectors)

    16. Might be something for the r/postcrossing community.
Is there an article about this mail box? Would be interesting to know the story behind it.

Noticed a lot of these around St Albans while i was visiting there, one year. Just to think that if someone tried putting these up where I live, they’d be vandalised or stolen in seconds. – Personally thought they were nice to see.

    18. I saw some of these when I was in Inverness a couple of weeks ago. It was cute. What’s it all about, though?
