This is so stupid and short sighted, night trains are exactly the kind of things needed and they should be invested in so much more than what they are right now

Crazy that we highly subsedize planes a lot and cut the ones on trains…
But no problem there’s money for the new A69 highway…
They never recovered from that high profile murder mystery where every suspect had a plausible alibi but they were all hiding a mysterious secret.
Essentially, the customer gets the ride and the stay. So charge accordingly.
Another brexit benefit
Night trains are fucking terrible. Sorry. The Hamburg to Vienna NightJet takes 5 hours longer (9 vs 14) and is nearly 3x as expensive as the ICE first class for a two person room.
WHY THE FUCK would I ever make my trip 5 hours longer, pay almost triple the price, and have to deal with some snoring grandpa when I could just sleep in my seat for a few hours????????
It is also twice as expensive as the flight.
A shame, I do like Night / Sleeper Trains, even though the UK only has two. I thought it was a real shame when plans for international services from the UK to mainland Europe were dropped, although there was obviously a lot of challenges that led to that decision. It would have been cool and rather useful for longer distance routes than London to Paris, Brussels, or Amsterdam.
Why don’t they stop selling Ouigo tickets under operational costs?
I’d love to use sleepers train but they’re way too expensive.
