Apart from those limey bastards in Oxford.
I wonder if this could fall foul of the Equality Act, as being indirect discrimination against women, as it isn’t unknown for controlling husbands to forbid their wives to learn English. (I have a close family.member who was in this situation for a long time, until she was in a position to basically tell her husband to fuck off. Her English has improved a LOT since then.)
This gave me an aneurysm, what the hell is leave, why is it remaining, and what does English have to do with it?
Requiring people to do „voluntary“ work in order to get visa extensions is really close to slavery with extra steps. We might become the Dubai of Europe….
