We don’t have enough tomahawk missiles as production is low and unlikely to be able to increase significantly. Raytheon is the prime contractor and doesn’t have much in the way of increasing production capacity

You can’t launch a Tomahawk from a fighter jet. Ukraine is unlikely to receive ground-based launchers for Tomahawks anytime soon because the US only has a few of these.

This is definitely a pressure statement. Tomohawks are very long range, opening up all of European Russia (west of Urals) to strikes.
But if I were the Kremlin, I’d bet on the USA not having the stock of Tomohawks they’d feel comfortable giving away. We lost like half our stock during the Iran and Houthi operations this year. Raytheon is „increasing production“ but it is a meager amount.
They would also need to be brought with TELs (many people dont know and I didnt until recently, but the tomohawk was originally designed as an army weapon system similar to HIMARS) and I dont know how compatible the current tomohawks in VLS format we have are (i.e. if they can be taken out and given to Ukraine for use in the TEL).
Thing is though, I dont believe the army has any of those TELs (original ones) left. They are developing a prototype of a new TEL but thats not in any significant quantity, id say there’s 2 or 3 tops.
Maybe if Europe convinces Trump they will buy 300 Tomohawks then he’ll give them to Ukraine. Maybe thats already happened.
Tomahawk Cruise missiles would absolutely be a huge benefit for Ukraine! With them they can effectively, selectively beat back and drive the Russian invasion forces to fall back to Russia!
