      Think the „Would“ in this report is doing some seriously heavy lifting, the UK is in negotiation with the US on this tariff seeing as how we have a deal for other trade items its very possible we can get a deal for this.

      We need to put Tariffs on all foreign companies in the UK. Amazon, McDonald’s, Costa all make huge profits in the UK and pay next to no tax. If we all bought coffee in local coffee shops they would pay UK tax and spend profits in the UK contributing to our economy, then you’ve got our energy companies being foreign owned EDF (French) was helping the French during covid while making plenty from us. Then you have Tata steel (India) having government donations to keep running. Everyone is taking us for mugs.

      It’s worth noting that we have a trade deficit with America meaning we import more than we export. A tariff war with us wouldn’t help the US.

      The smart thing to do would be to invest in domestic manufacturing and not to respect patients for key drugs. This can already be done by many countries, the US included.

      According to reddit, what we need to do it spread out cheeks wider and do what he want, even though a tariff only serves to cost Americans (it make UK product more expensive over there).

      If only we had a big trading block that’s tariff free to replace them with..
