    1. Many shareholders question the decision to capitulate so easily. More boards will ask the same question.

Disney is definitely one of the only companies that can truly tell people to fuck off at times, but even their lawyers don’t want to deal with this.

“There is a credible basis to suspect that the [Disney] Board and executives may have breached their fiduciary duties of loyalty, care, and good faith by placing improper political or affiliate considerations above the best interests of the Company and its stockholders,” the letter reads, according to the [report](https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/disney-shareholders-jimmy-kimmel-suspension-records-legal-threat-1236528997/).

“[We reserve the right to file a lawsuit] in the event that members of the Board or Disney executives did not properly discharge their fiduciary duties.”

    3. So the shareholders are vocally taking the blame and should be the main focus of any ire?

This could be huge, if Disney is found in breach of their fiduciary duties…

Let’s just be explicitly clear that they are pissed he was REMOVED. Not that he is back. The title sucks balls.

Politics should have no say in the elements of free speech. I said the same when the Biden administration was chokeholding social media and Google to block any narrative other than their own and I say this now with MAGArds.

We see what kind of mess that turns mainstream news into. Why would we want that with entertainment?

Can they tack on an additional line item for being so stupid to move forward with price increases as they navigate the fallout from bending the knee to the regime? Feckin idiots running that company right now.

    8. Interesting. Glad I held a few shares. Would love to get my piece of a settlement.

It’s sad, but this is what’s needed to ensure Trump doesn’t keep succeeding when he threatens companies. If they win this lawsuit, every other company will be very cautious before they capitulate to Trump.

    10. THIS is what must happen. Hold television networks accountable to their shareholders if they pull that shit again. This will stop the cancellation of free speech, along with consumer boycotts.

Iger has destroyed his legacy at Disney. The man picked the wrong person to replace him when he originally retired. Then he came back and has basically shit the bed at almost every occasion and bending over to the administration was the last nail in the coffin that was the legacy of Bog Iger.

    12. You can expect that they’ll replace the board of directors and fire the CEO in the next few months. You dont throw away $3 billion to appease a clown and then expect youre going to get away with it.

Everyone is an asshole. If you adapt that as a standard outlook you will be more content

Man, I’d hate to become one of the pawns either side uses in this embarrassing battle of (half) wits

    15. This would have gone much worse if the hostile takeover happened and Nelson Peltz was put in charge.

    16. The headline makes it seem like they’re angry that Jimmy Kimmel is back.

The investors are angry that he was taken off the air in the first place. That this decision was not done properly.

Capitulating to white supremacists is one thing but they went after the investor’s bottom line and it’s hurting them.

That company is tainted as far as I’m concerned and it has to do a lot to get rid of that taint.

Disney already kowtowed to government censorship and violation of the first amendment by suspending the show. Only as a result of mass boycotts did they return Kimmel back to the air. Disney is still working with Nexstar and Sinclair who seemed to lead the push to have Kimmel cancelled, with Sinclair at least now attempting to blackmail Disney/Kimmel/ABC into giving Kirk’s family money … a family who is still in charge of Turning Point USA.

I cancelled my Disney and Hulu accounts last week, and my boycott will stand.

I just finished watching Andor before this happened, and it astounds me that Disney is so out of touch that they don’t even realize that they not only gave in to the „Empire“ but became a champion for them in telling the story that this administration wanted them to tell, regardless if this administration’s narrative was based in reality or fiction.
