Its the same country whose president is ranting in UN that he didn get the building contract all those years ago.
I dont think America has a point to make or understand any more
Because this is the dumbest possible thing to blow in Canada U.S. relations, you can be all but certain that this will be a major bone of contention sometime in the next 3 and 1/4 years.
And it will be demanded of Canada that we rake the half or so of the country that is comprised of boreal forests or some other such idiocy because of you know who.
Good god, I hope I’m wrong because there’s no winning here.
These fires are so vast and so powerful that once they get going, there’s no way to stop them short of weather control. Something no one has right now. And because of the sheer scale of the country and drought affected areas and whathaveyou, well, there’s gonna be a whole lot of smoke. Until the whole thing burns, it will keep on burning bit by bit each year. And there’s nothing that anyone can do about it.
Also, I wonder who Americans blame for hurricanes? Because this makes about as much sense properly understood. Who is it who’s not managing the hurricanes that keep on hitting the U.S. and causing havoc?
Why does no one talk about that?
The United States has the tendency to blame the world for their own internal problems so it’s not surprising that they would blame natural disasters happening in another country that affects them even though they are historically a big part of the climate problem.
Neither the US or Canada is doing an even passable job of forestry management with a mind to reducing forest fires. We did this better a hundred years ago using convict labour with hand tools than we do now.
Runaway climate change is the new global reality. The reality is, the vast forests and peatlands will dry out and burn, and there aren’t enough resources anywhere to put out all the fires.
