Es ist sehr häufig, dass alte und junge Menschen gleichermaßen Ak-Kalpaks, Chapans, T-Shirts mit kirgisischen Designs usw. tragen. Jeder trug nur schwarz. Was ist damit los? Aserbaidschan hat eine so reichhaltige Textilgeschichte und einige wirklich coole Kleidung, aber es scheint nicht bei Menschen beliebt zu sein (zumindest von dem, was ich in Bakı Gәncә und şәki gesehen habe). Ich finde es eigentlich ein bisschen lustig, da es anscheinend viele Aserbaidschaner sehr nationalistisch und sogar pan-türkisch sind, aber die traditionellen Kleider nicht zu tragen (abgesehen von vielleicht gelegentlich ein Karakul). Aber ich werde auch sagen, dass ich ein paar Wochen lang als Tourist gekommen bin, also fehlt mir vielleicht etwas, wenn jemand weiß und solche Geschäfte in Aserbaidschaner gerne teilen!

we do? we don’t go out in random day with traditional clothing however during every festival and celebration throughout the year, we wear. i have always worn my traditional clothe during important days, and my friends also do the same thing as well.
This is a characteristic of the entire post-Soviet space. In the Soviet Union, they drummed into us that national dress was ridiculous and shameful. But I’m not Azerbaijani.

I’ve seen this with Kazakhs as well, you guys have modern brands and people who produce traditional wear with modern considerations. This allows to wear a lot of traditional looking clothes on daily basis without looking weird.

I’m not sure about Azerbaijan, but Turkish people usually dislike that. They often feel inferior to Westerners. They see traditional clothing as outdated, rural, and ignorant. And since some of our traditional clothing was influenced by neighboring cultures, they tend to emulate Turkic groups from Central Asia instead.
