It reads to me like Louisiana is experiencing the impact of a loss of tourism and trade with Canada. _To his credit_, the Governor [has repeatedly raised alarm](https://www.katc.com/lafayette-parish/louisiana-faces-tourism-setback-as-canadians-cancel-trips) over this loss since as far back as April. But it seems like he had assumed we’d be over it by now.

> “They said that the Canadians were going to stop coming to Florida and I’m thinking to myself, I don’t think that’s true because who would want to be in Canada in the winter or spring when you could be in Florida?” said DeSantis.

Why would I want to be in Florida at _any_ time of the year, when I could be on Vancouver Island or on the Sunshine Coast? Perhaps I could even travel abroad to some place where I have a great deal more buying power.

Florida isn’t filled with the sort of people that I would enjoy spending time with, and if I’m going to be somewhere that’s hot and muggy then I may as well be somewhere that I won’t go broke having a good time.
