      The problem was the FCC getting involved. This would’ve been fine if popular outrage had pushed Kimmel off the air

      Regular people were mad that the government pressured ABC to take action against Kimmel. Rosanne just said a bunch of stuff regular people are fed up with, so ABC got rid of her. Why is this too complicated for some people?

      Roseanne was fired for saying racist lies. 

      These are not the same 

      The fact Roseanne is equating telling the truth with saying conspiratorial fabrications about minorities is massively racist

      Rosanne Barr as I recall said some crazy ass shit and it wasn’t the first time with her. Jimmy Kimmel did nothing so egregious that warranted his suspension.

      I must’ve forgotten when the president and FCC got involved to get Rosanne fired. Because that’s the only way these two situations would be comparable.

      There’s a big difference between what happened to Jimmy and what she did to herself.

      Cancel culture is when the *public* is done with you because of something you did or said, and the *network* fires you for it. That was the case with Roseanne.

      In Jimmy’s case, the *President* orchestrated his removal through political and corporate pressure, and intends to continue. This is a violation of the First Amendment because the *government* (not a citizen) tried to silence Kimmel.

      Roseanne was fired from her show for tweeting that African American Valerie Jarrett was “as if Muslim brotherhood and Planet of the Apes had a baby.” Jimmy Kimmel, on the other hand, said nothing remotely offensive about Charlie Kirk, Republicans are just pretending that he did as an excuse to throw him out for repeatedly telling the truth about Trump. Apples and oranges, you can’t compare the two.

      I’m literally shocked of how ignorant some people are when they don’t seem able to distinguish between a direct threat from a goverment to a company firing you because you went on a racist rant at three on the morning.

      It’s blatant ignorance and is quite scary because it shows how little knowledge many people have when it comes to basic rights.

      Roseanne said a black woman looked like a monkey.

      Jimmy was removed because broadcasters who need Brendan Carr to remove anti-monopoly laws so they can make $6 billion by becoming too powerful responded within 24 hours to a government officials suggestion of censorship, giving Carr credit in a publically released written statement naming Carr. 1st Amendment protects Jimmy from government interference.

      Roseanne was fired because CBS responded to advertisers responding to viewers with no government interference. Consequences.
