The Mong Tai Army was a militia founded by the druglord, Khun Sa and a few Shan insurgent leaders. They both fought the Burmese juntas and allied with them depending on the circumstances. The United Wa State Army formed from a split with the Communist Party of Burma, and they are the largest non-state army in all of Myanmar (also a Chinese proxy). The Shan State Army at this point was split into 2 with the Shan State Army North and Shan State Army South. All of them were/are involved in the drug trade (particularly yaba and heroin).
In the current civil war, the Mong Tai Army no longer exists; the UWSA and SSA-N don’t fight the junta directly and attend their conferences. Indirectly, the UWSA supplied weapons to rebel factions such as TNLA and Arakan Army. However, they declared that they will [no longer support ](https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/myanmar-china-watch/under-chinese-pressure-myanmars-uwsp-cuts-off-support-to-allied-ethnic-armies.html)the MNDAA, TNLA, and SSA-N due to China. This has spiraled into a massive inflation of black market weapon prices for the various anti-junta factions.
As for SSA-S, they do fight the modern junta, but are a minor faction overall.
